Things to know when visiting our Furniture Design Center:

PLEASE read this before coming to visit us…it will make your experience MUCH better with us.

1) What is the difference between a Design Center and a traditional retailer?

The most important thing is choices.  When you visit a traditional retailer, they will generally have 15-25  collections for you to look at.  Some of these collections come only as shown and some will have some color choices.   Generally though, that’s it.  If you don’t like what they have, move on to the next store.  Of course, they usually have salespeople (on commission) who will do whatever they can to help you choose from what they have.

How are we different?  Well, like the store, we only have so much room to show products so you will see about 25 different collections on our floor.  The difference?  Most people don’t know that most manufacturers offer hundreds of styles in hundreds of leathers.  . 

How a factory works is they find one frame that is successful and then they change the arms, stitching patterns, pillow patterns, etc to give LOTS of different looks but the same comfortable sofa.  So, we can show you one sofa that is actually a hundred sofas, just different arms, cushion patterns etc.

2) Why Shop the site first?

Since we can’t show the hundreds of frames in hundreds cushion pattern and hundreds of arm styles (it would be thousands of sets on our floor); if you know what on our site is most appealing to you in dimensions, colors and styles; we can show you what that set will sit like, EVEN if it’s not on our floor.  HOW CAN WE DO THAT?  Because you can sit in the same frame, with the same seating system as the set you want.  It might not LOOK like your set, but it will sit like your set because it will be the EXACT same seating system with the exact same frame construction.  The only thing that will be different will be the styling.

Designers know this.  When they come in, they are not looking to see what we have on our floor.  They look for the style they want on our site and then come in to make sure it sits and feels the way their customer wants it.  They don’t need to see the ACTUAL piece because they know the outside is just for looks.  It’s the inside of the furniture that determines how comfortable it is.

THEN, if it only comes as shown; they order.  If it has multiple color options, they sit down and choose from the dozens (or hundreds) of options to get the custom piece their customer wants.
