Hi Peter,

Palliser Furniture uses leathers from tanneries in Brazil, Argentina and Italy and has reported to us that they do not use leathers from China. (It should be noted that we have seen many excellent leather products come from China. The issue with China was that several of the hundreds of tanneries were using chemicals that they should not have. ) That said, your question is a bit confusing. You ask if any chemicals are used in their leathers. Based on your concern for Chinese leathers, we presume that your concern is whether or not Palliser is using leathers from China. To answer your question directly, ALL leathers use chemicals as leather is a a cow's skin and without chemicals, it would rot. Every dye is a chemical as is the chrome and other liquids that preserve the hide. In other words, you cannot avoid chemicals if you want leather. You just need to be certain you are purchasing from a manufacturer that has high quality control and standards. Palliser is has proven to be one of those companies.

I love the new website. Its so easy to navigate and order items. I also love the pricing and swatch request feature. I got the swatch within 2 days and I was able to order my furniture with more peace knowing the look and feel of the leather....

Thanks for the great service
